What information is needed before sampling?
Stable product facts prevent a sample from approving the wrong geometry.
- Provide production-unit dimensions, weight and product photos where possible.
- Identify the exact decision, responsible approver and required evidence.
- Use versioned dielines and artwork so comments stay attached to the right sample.
- State which dimensions, colors or claims are still provisional.

How does sample approval move into production?
The approved sample should become a documented reference, not an isolated object.
- Record construction, material, artwork version, finish and approval date.
- List accepted limitations or variances in plain language.
- Reopen approval if the board, supplier, print process or key component changes.
- Retain a physical reference for color-critical or finish-critical reorders.

Questions to settle before sampling.
Does a white sample prove final color or finish?
No. A white sample proves structural decisions such as fit, opening and handling; it does not prove the final production paper, color or decorative finish.
Do I need a production-representative sample for every project?
Not always. Use it when a critical paper, color, foil, emboss or other finish relationship cannot be approved reliably from a simpler sample.
What changes require a new review?
A new container size, dieline, material, print method, finish, insert, closure or packed weight can reopen the relevant fit, appearance or performance decision.
